PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine capable of making a player more strongly hope for the occurrence of a jackpot by displaying unprecedented effects for the enhancement of an on-standby condition on symbol display portions. SOLUTION: In a special on-standby condition, a special symbol display portion L1 is vertically divided into three stages: the symbol '0' is temporarily stopped and displayed in red on a special symbol display portion L11; the symbol '0' is temporarily stopped and displayed in yellow on a special symbol display portion L12; and the symbol '0' is temporarily stopped and displayed in green on a special symbol display portion L13. Another special symbol display portion L2 is also vertically divided into three stages: the symbol '0' is temporarily stopped and displayed in red on a special symbol display portion L21; the symbol '0' is temporarily stopped and displayed in yellow on a special symbol display portion L22; and the symbol '0' is temporarily stopped and displayed in green on a special symbol display portion L23.
