PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground stabilization method capable of controlling the sideways displacement of the ground by consolidation to rationally and economically carry out ground stabilization. SOLUTION: The depth in the underground direction of every ground improvement body 1 is varied so that the front end in the underground direction of every ground improvement body 1 does not arrived at a supporting ground 2, every ground improvement body 1 is put in order so that the front end section in the underground direction is formed in the shape of an arch, and every ground improvement body 1 is so formed that it becomes one piece of arch in the ground. A natural ground 3 directly under the every ground improvement 1 is constrained in the arch to prevent the diffusion of the stress inside of the ground by load applied to every ground improvement body 1 on the ground surface. The natural ground 3 directly under the every ground improvement body 1 is constrained in the arch to vertical one dimensionally limit the consolidation displacement of the constrained ground, and the load applied to every ground improvement body 1 on the ground surface is made to effectively act as consolidation pressure.
