PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic faucet solving such a problem that water is left discharged on by covering an operating switch with a towel and a dishrag or the like in the case the operating switch in the automatic faucet is constituted of a non-contact system sensor and it is constituted as an alternation switch which alternatively discharge and stopping water every operation. SOLUTION: In the automatic faucet 18, the operating switch 42R consisting of the sensor is constituted as the alternation switch alternatively discharging and stopping water every operation and as an operating duration detectable switch and, at the same time, a control section 41 is so controllably operated that when an ON operating state for making discharge to the operating switch 42R continues for a setting time a wrong operation is decided to make water stop when it is.
