PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent surreptitious use of data and unauthorized access to a storage device 5 built in a pointing device 1 by a third party. SOLUTION: After connecting the pointing device 1 to a system device 8, an operator inputs an operation pattern for releasing lock of the storage device 5, whether or not the operation pattern is registered is determined in an operation pattern collation processing part 4.
