PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening section device which is provided with assist mechanisms and a door leading-side lock, improved in opening/closing operability and crime prevention, and brings about simplified structure and improved design. SOLUTION: The opening section device is formed of a frame 2 consisting of a head rail 2a, a sill 2b, and left and right stiles 2c, 2d; screen sashes 3, 4 slidably set in the frame 2; assist mechanisms 15 arranged at door leading portions the screen sashes 3, 4, for reducing initial opening force necessary for starting opening operation of the sashes 3, 4 assuming a totally closed position, and the door leading-side lock 19. Each assist mechanism 15 is formed of a pressing member 16 which is arranged in a door leading portion in a manner protrudable toward the jamb, for moving the sash in an opening direction, triggered by reaction of pressing of the stile; an operating section 18 vertically slidably arranged at each door leading portion; and a direction changing section 17 for changing vertical moving directions of the operating section 18 and transmitting the changed direction to the pressing member 16.
