PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coal moisture control equipment and a coal moisture control method which can give moisture-controlled coal being not in an overdry or excessively moist state at the exit of a coal drying means and does not suffer from energy loss. SOLUTION: The coal moisture control equipment comprises a coal drying means, a means A for measuring the mass of coal charged into the coal drying means, a means B for measuring the mass of coal discharged from the coal drying means, a means C for measuring the moisture content of the coal charged into the coal drying means, a means D for measuring the moisture content (measured by the means D) of the coal discharged from the coal drying means, a means E for calculating the mass of undried coal to be mixed when the moisture content of the coal discharged from the coal drying means is lower than a specified range and is therefore adjusted to the specified moisture content by mixing with undried coal, and a means F for mixing the undried coal in an amount calculated from the means E with the coal discharged from the coal drying means.
