The nappy or diaper, for nappy pants, has a centre section (12) of a corrugated and mechanically fixed material. It is stitched between at least one material layer (11) of a second smooth material. Also claimed is a mfg. process where the unwashed layers (11) are overlaid, and the unwashed folded material (12) is inserted between them, to be bonded together by closed seams (17). The edge (15) of the outer materials (15) is seamed, and the layers are washed and dried. Through strong shrinkage of the outer layer (11) material, the centre section (12) is given an inner mechanical tension for corrugation.
