EXTRACT OF HERBAL AND THE COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE SAME

A herb extract is provided to be used for a composition of treating and preventing gastrointestinal motility disorders by having a remarkable effect of promoting gastrointestinal motility through 5-HT3 receptor antagonism and/or 5-HT4 receptor agonism. The herb extract is at least one extract of herb selected from the group consisting of Sinapis Semen, Corydalis Tuber, Pharbitidis Seed and Strychni Ignatii Semen and is prepared by repetitively extracting dried Sinapis Semen, Corydalis Tuber, Pharbitidis Seed or Strychni Ignatii Semen with a solvent such as water, C1-4 lower alcohol, and a mixture solvent thereof at a temperature of 45-65 deg.C for 65-80 hours one time to five times. The composition for preventing and treating gastrointestinal motility disorder comprises the herb extract as an effective ingredient.
