A dispersion type rainwater detention system is provided to a small scale of detention tank installed at an upstream area to control a disaster such as a flood caused by rapid variation in the flow rate of water. A dispersion type rainwater detention system comprises a plurality of detention tanks(10) installed from the upstream of a river while being spaced apart from each other. The detention tank(10) comprises a pre-processing section(13) for filtering impurities of introduced rainwater and a storage section for storing the rainwater having passes through the pre-processing section(13). A control device controls the detention tanks(10) by simultaneously monitoring the water level of the detention tanks(10). The pre-processing section(13) is provided with a settling tank having has a certain space, which filters the impurities of introduced rainwater and precipitates the rainwater. The detention tank(10) is prepared in the form of a circular detention tank installed at the level ground and a multi-block detention tank installed at the slope area.
