An automatic used paper recognition printer is provided to have a used paper tray and a new paper tray so as to select either new paper or used paper according to usage. An operating method of an automatic used paper recognition printer includes the steps of: loading new paper on a new paper tray; loading used paper on a used paper tray; checking printing paper according to usage; operating new paper rollers or used paper rollers selectively; forming images on papers; and outputting the printed paper.
