Example embodiments of therapy systems may include an implantable component and an external component that can be configured into one of multiple selectable operating modes. Plugging an external antenna into the external component can automatically configure the external component into one of the operating modes. Initial values for the parameters of a therapy program can be incremented or decremented after a predetermined period of time by a predetermined amount to obtain a subsequent value of the parameter and therapy can be applied using the subsequent value. The implantable component can be adapted to be selectively configured into one of a training mode and a delivery mode. The implantable component is configured to simulate application of therapy when configured in the training mode.
