The present invention provides an electrode assembly having a fastening member formed on outer surfaces of an electrode assembly, which can suppress expansion of a fuel cell and can prevent generation of excessive gas. According to the present invention, provided is an electrode assembly, wherein a plurality of positive electrodes and negative electrodes in which electrode active material layers are applied to one surface or both surfaces of a current collector are stacked with separators interposed therebetween, thereby forming an electrode stack; electrode tabs composed of uncoated portions of current collectors which are not coated with electrode active material are projected from the positive electrodes and negative electrodes in one side direction or in both side directions; a fastening member made of polymer resin to resist changes in volume of the electrode stack during charging and discharging is brought into tight contact with outside surfaces of the electrode stack exclusive of the electrode tabs; and the fastening member includes a plurality of through openings via which electrolyte can move between an outside of the fastening member and the electrode stack.
