PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymer material containing a specific copolymer, a hydrophobic polymer other than the copolymer, exhibiting a specific structure, having both of excellent biocompatility and dynamic strength and useful for medical materials, raw materials for cosmetics, coating raw materials, etc. SOLUTION: This polymer material comprises a mixed material containing (A) a copolymer obtained by copolymerizing a monomer composition containing a monomer having a side chain of the formula (R<1> to R<3> are each H or a 1-4C alkyl) and a hydrophobic monomer and (B) one or more kinds of hydrophobic polymers other than the component A. The structure of the mixed material exhibits a phase separation in which domains composed of the component A and having size smaller than several hundred μm is uniformly distributed to a phase composed of the component B. Furthermore, the component A is preferably a copolymer of a 1-4C alkyl (meth)acrylate having a side chain of the formula with a hydrophobic monomer selected from 5-15C branched alkyl (meth) acrylate. The component B is preferably a segmented polyurethane composed of a polyaddition reaction of dicyclohexylmethane diisocynate with a polyether- diol. |
