METHOD AND DEVICE FOR LAYING EXISTING IN PIPE OF OPTICAL CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of more easily and surely laying an optical cable into the spacing of an existing pipe in which the cables are housed and a device. SOLUTION: The device for laying the optical cable by passing a messenger rope 20 into the spacing 12 of the existing pipe 10 in which the cables 11 are housed is formed with plural pushing links 34 to be loosely fitted into the spacing 12. These pushing links 34 are connected by the messenger rope 20. A pushing device for pushing the pushing links is disposed so as to face the one opening end of the existing pipe 10. This pushing device pushes several 100 pieces of the pushing links 34 successively into the spacing 12. If the cables 11 meander in the existing pipe 10, the top pushing link 34 progresses by profiling the meandering spacing 12 while searching the widest part of the spacing 12. The optical cable is connected to the front end of the messenger rope 20 from the opening end on the opposite side of the existing pipe 10 when the prescribed pieces of the pushing links are pushed into the pipe. The messenger rope 20 is then pulled back, by which the optical cable is laid into the existing pipe 10.
