PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ophthalmic lens with a reading part in which distance vision, intermediate vision, and near vision little or do not influence each other and which significantly increase the contrast sensitivity of the ophthalmic lens.SOLUTION: An ophthalmic lens comprises a main lens part 4, a recessed part 7, an optical center, and an optical axis R through the optical center. The main lens part has at least one boundary with the recessed part, and has a refractivity of between about -20 to about +35 diopters. The recessed part is positioned at a distance of less than 2 mm from the optical center, and comprises a near part having relative diopters of about +1.0 to about +5.0 with respect to the refractivity of the main lens part. The one or more boundaries of the recessed lens part with the main lens part form one or more blending parts 10, are shaped to refract light away from the optical axis, and have a curvature resulting in a loss of light of less than about 15% within a circle with a diameter of 4 mm around the optical center.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
