1,109,066. Steam condensers. KOMPLEX NAGYBERENDEZESEK EXPORT-IMPORT VALLALATA. 8 Nov., 1965 [6 Nov., 1964], No. 47310/65. Heading B1B [Also in Division F4] Steam flows down chamber 2 into channels 6. 7, 8, 9 where the steam is condensed by direct contact with jets 5 of cooling water from nozzles 4 in water-conduits 3. Gases are withdrawn from the individual channels through passages in the lower portions of conduits 3, these passages being connected to an air pump (not shown). The gases rising through the passages are cooled with water cascading over trays. Part of the mixture of condensate and cooling water which collects at the bottom of the condenser is withdrawn through outlet 18, but a level 15 of water is maintained so that the lower ends of channels 6, 7, 8, 9 are sealed. A surface condenser is also described (see Division F4). |
