Apparatus for corrugating sheet as it passes therethrough includes a cam which both reciprocates two opposed dies to and from one another and shifts one of these dies back and forth along the line of feed of the strip with respect to the other die. Strip B to be corrugated passes under a tensioning roll 202 and over a guide plate 204 to pass between upper and lower corrugating members 142, Fig. 2 (not shown), carried by upper and lower rams 108, 110, which form corrugations C. The rams 108, 110 are reciprocated to and from one another by cams 12, 14 which rock upper and lower levers 16, 18 carrying rollers 64 bearing on the rams. The rollers 64 are carried by push rods 68 adjustable relative to the arms 16, 18 by axially moving a wedge 80, Fig. 3 (not shown), in the arm 16 or 18 by a screw 86, the wedge 80 engaging a cam face 76 on the rod 68. Springs 114 between adjustably fixed die shoes 100, 102 and the rams 108, 110 bias the ram away from the shoes. The die shoe 102 is adjusted to and from the die shoe 100 by wedge means 122. The die shoe 100, together with the upper die member 142 and ram 108, is reciprocated in the feed direction of the strip B by the cams 12, 14. The cams rock lever 160, pivoted at g, to rock a lever 170 pivoted at h, a follower 172 on which engages a bearing plate 150 on pins 106 extending from the shoe 100. A bearing cylinder 180 carried by the lever 170 and engaged by the lever 160, is adjustable by and along a screw 178. |
