A chain driving wheel for motor chain saws comprises a middle part 2 having teeth 1 adapted to engage with teeth 3a between the side links 6 of the chain, and two side parts 9 which act as radial guides for the side links of the chain and have cam-like raised portions 8 on their outer peripheries 'spaced apart the pitch of the chain for engaging corresponding recesses 7 in the side links of the chain. The teeth 3a of the chain have flanks 4, 5 for engaging the teeth 1 of the middle part, and the side links 6, which alternate with the middle, toothed links, have inner faces formed with outer sections 12 for bearing on the running faces 13 of the guide rail 14 and inner sections 10 for bearing on the circular sections 11 of the side parts 9. The raised portions 8 on the side parts are aligned with the tips 1A of the teeth 1 but are wider than the teeth and engage the recesses 7 in the side links. The portions 8 act to radially support the chain particularly in the event of wear on the bearing sections 10. The parts 2, 9 may be formed integrally: and be connected to the clutch drum of the motor.</p> |
