1303078 Automatic speed-control JUNGNER INSTRUMENT AB 24 April 1970 [6 May 1969] 19729/70 Heading G3R A master object 1 such as the cable drum of a crane, and slave objects 2 are driven by hydraulic systems 3 comprising motors whose speeds are each controlled by changing the stroke of associated pumps. For this purpose, pilot valves 4 are connected to transistor circuits 5. The object 1 is coupled to a synchro transmitter 6 providing a signal representing the instantaneous position of the master object, this signal being applied to synchro comparators 7 which are coupled to the objects 2. A command signal is supplied to the master pilot valve from a transmitter 8, transformer 9, rectifier 10, and circuit 5. Output signals from the comparators 7 are combined with the command signal, and the corrected signals are applied to the respective pilot valves through rectifiers 10 and circuits 5. The resultant signal supplied to each pilot valve has a magnitude and polarity to remove deviations in relative speed between the master object and the corresponding slave object, thereby synchronising their position and movement. In a modification, Fig. 2. (not shown) a master and slave object are respectively geared to a synchro transmitter and comparator, the magnitude and polarity of the command signal being controlled by reversible movement of a handle, about a neutral position. The signal from the comparator is combined with the command signal, and the combined signal is applied to both pilot valves but in different senses. Relative speed or positional deviations are thus removed by opposed and simultaneous regulation of the two objects. |
