PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a diamond sintered compact having chipping, heat and acid resistances under conditions which enable industrial production. SOLUTION: This diamond sintered compact consists of 0.1-30vol.% material made of a compd. contg. one or more kinds of metals selected from among Fe, Co, Ni and Mn, Ti and O and the balance diamond. It is produced by mixing powder of titanate of a metal selected from among Fe, Co, Ni and Mn as a sintering aid with diamond powder, non-diamond carbon powder or a powdery mixture of diamond with non-diamond carbon and sintering the resultant mixture by holding under conditions of pressure and temp. in a region in which diamond is thermodynamically stable. |
