A vinyl chloride polymer contains 5-20% of its weight of a mixture of two heterogeneously chlorinated high-pressure polyethylenes, each having a chlorine content of 5-55% by wt. and differing from the other by 5-30% and each being present in an amount of at least 2.5% by wt. of the vinyl chloride polymer. The vinyl chloride polymer is preferably a homopolymer but may contain up to 20% of comonomers and may be after-chlorinated. The composition is formed by mixing or by polymerizing the vinyl chloride in the presence of the chlorinated polyethylenes. The polyethylenes are obtained at pressures above 500 atm. and are chlorinated in macrogranular particulate form in suspension in water or hydrochloric acid at up to 85 DEG C. Tin or barium-cadmium stabilizers are preferred; others mentioned are epoxidized fatty oils or lead or cadmium compounds. A fatty acid salt or ester lubricant may also be present.
