1303162 Electric couplings TEXAS INSTRUMENTS Inc 6 May 1970 [18 July 1969] 21728/70 Heading H2E A connection device, particularly for mounting on a printed circuit board to receive an integrated circuit unit B with contact pins P, comprises a cover C and a hollow body member H and is shown partly in longitudinal section in Fig. 17 and in transverse section in Fig. 22. Holes in the cover are aligned with pockets in the body member H defined by flanges 21 projecting inwardly from the side walls. Each pocket contains a contact comprising a post 39 projecting through the bottom of the body H and connected by a bridge 37 to two spring leaves 35 held apart by an inwardly projecting rib 23 on the wall of the housing H. Lugs 53 on the cover C retain the contacts by engagement with shoulders 43. Prongs 61 project downwardly from the cover and, at their lower ends, carry projecting lugs having latching engagement with the body H. A special tool, Fig. 27, not shown, has fingers which can be inserted through holes in the cover to release this latching engagement when required. |
