SNAUWAERT & DEPLA TENNIS RACKETS 30 July 1970 [8 Aug 1969] 36874/70 Heading A6D A racket for e.g. tennis comprises a plurality of wooden; e.g. ash, layers 2 extending perpendicularly to the plane of the racket and two outer surface layers 4 of glass fibre reinforced with a synthetic plastics material which lie in the plane of the racket and completely cover its surface. The wooden layers may be combined with intermediate layers 3 of a vulcanised fibre such as hydrated cellulose. The synthetic plastics may be an epoxy resin; the glass fibre being in the form of a cloth or non-woven mat. The wooden layers preferably extend longitudinally with respect to the length of the handle and the local direction of the frame head. |
