摘要 |
FIELD: production of lengthy quasi-steady plasma electrodes in slotted discharge chambers of gaseous-discharge power lasers that do not require fast pumping of working mixture. SUBSTANCE: electromechanical device for exciting homogeneous surface discharge in high-density gases is assembled on insulating substrate of movable electrode (rotor) made in the form of grounded cylinder or casing with high-resistance insulating film on external surface. Homogeneous surface discharge is excited by film between lengthy high-voltage and current-collecting knife electrodes mounted on same plane along generating line of movable electrode with minimal gap relative to substrate surface. Working gap L between electrodes is chosen from condition $$$, where U is voltage across high-voltage electrode; $$$ is tabulated value of reduced breakdown electric field strength for given gas; P is gas medium pressure.
