1303362 Polyolefin compositions MOBIL OIL CORP 25 Nov 1970 [25 Nov 1969] 56082/70 Heading C3P The invention comprises blends of (i) a butene-1/ethylene crystalline tactic copolymer containing 5 to 20 mole per cent of ethylene and (ii) a hydrocarbon oil in an amount of from 15 to 50 per cent by weight of the total copolymer and hydrocarbon oil. The hydrocarbon oils used include a butylene oligomer (M.W. 2300), a naphthenic petroleum cut (S.A.V. 1300 seconds at 100‹ F.), a propylene oligomer (M.W. 800) and a paraffinic petroleum cut (S.A.V. 47 seconds at 210‹ F.). Comparative examples 1-3 describe heat of fusion tests on polybutene- 1 homopolymer, polybutene-1 homopolymer mixed with a propylene oligomer (M.W. 800) and a butene-1 ethylene copolymer respectively. The blends are used for leather substitutes.
