Throwing of material into the interior of a hollow vessel is done by means of a slinger, to which the material is delivered by means of a pneumatic hose, and in which it is separated from the air stream. The process is intended for the throwing of refractory lining into furnace shells. Pref. the dry or moist refractory powder is forcibly mixed with water in the head after the air has been spearated from the powder. The process increases the mobility of the slinging plant, flexible connections only being required to the refractory and water supply points.
