Solid insecticidal agent with long lasting fumigant action consists of a combination of DDVP (dimethyl dichlorovinyl phosphate) with (a) a waxy compound, contng. a 16-24C aliphatic chain, selected from higher alcohols and carboxylic acids and their etehrs, esters and amides having a solidification point is not 45 degrees C., and, optionally, (b) a waxy polyalkylene oxide adduct, the solidification point of the combination being is not 45 degrees C. (pref. is not 55 degrees C.). The agents are easy to manufacture and sweating out of DDVP does not occur. The rate of evaporation can be varied within wide limits by varying the composition of the waxy carrier material, being increased by increasing proportions of component (b).
