<p>EXOTHERMIC OXIDATION OF ORGANIC COMPDS. IN THE LIQUID PHASE. M5-. Comprises introducing the compd. into a primary reaction zone mixed with a gas contng. free 02, removing some heat produced in the reaction via an exchanger; feeding in further O2-contng. gas into a secondary reaction zone and removing more heat than is produced in the further reaction, and recycling at least a part of the mixed reaction product to the first reaction zone. The reaction is carried out at 0-200, pref. 80-190 degrees C; gas contains 2-100 mol.% O2, with a total of 0.01 to 50 moles O2: mole organic compd. The process reduces or eliminates discolouration of production by impurities by improving the selectively of the reaction; clogging of the reactor and heat exchanger.</p> |
