1429532 Dyeing cellulose with reactive dyes HOECHST AG 16 March 1973 [18 March 1972] 12781/73 Heading D1B Textile materials made of or containing natural or regenerated cellulose fibres are dyed or printed with reactive dyes by a continuous or semi-continuous process using a pad-dyeing or printing technique which comprises applying a padding liquor or print paste which contains one or several reactive dyes, an alkali or alkali yielding agent and water together with a phosphine oxide and/or an aminoxide of the formulae: in which R R 1 and R 2 each represents a linear or branched alkyl or alkylene radical having 1 to 18 carbon atoms which radicals may be substituted by hydroxy, cyano, or amino groups or by halogen atoms and which may be optionally interrupted by oxygen, sulphur and/or nitrogen atoms and/or by a carboxylate, carboxyamide or sulphonamide group, in which case the radicals R 1 and R 2 may be the constituents of a heterocyclic 5- or 6-membered ring, provided that the sum of carbon atoms contained in R R 1 and R 2 is at least 8 and at most 20, the material being then optionally dried and heated or allowed to dwell at room temperature or at a temperature up to 60‹C to fix the dyes. The phosphine oxide and/or amine oxide may be used in an amount of from 1 to 100 gms per litre of padding liquor or print pastes, organic solvents e.g. monohydric to trihydric linear or branched aliphatic alcohols having 1 to 5 carbon atoms may be used. |
