Ion exchange - using two resin beds separated by grating in single housing

Condensate flows downwardly through two beds of ion exchange materials arranged in series in a single tank. The two beds are sepd. by a grating which has through passages with a substantial vertical height. When it is necessary to remove the upper bed for scrubbing it is removed thorugh a conduit arranged on the side of the tank just above the grating while a slow upward flow of water passes through the grating to prevent any of the upper bed moving downwardly to contaminate the lower bed.
