<p>The cap has a lug for pulling it open, and the fact that initial opening has taken place is indicated by a pin (8), fitting in an opening in the centre of the lug, and protruding from it. This is joined by a thin skin to the edge of the opening, and breaks off from the lug (2) on the occasion of the first opening. The pin can protrude on the side of the lug against which finger pressure is applied, extending at right angles from the lug surface. Its length can be such that its free end is level with one end of the cap. The design is ideally suitable for plastic caps, and does not require an additional operation as would be necessary for the application of a seal.</p> |
