1510359 DC excited synchronous machines ASEAAB 29 Aug 1975 [30 Aug 1974] 35687/75 Heading H2A In an arrangement for the brushless excitation of a variable speed synchronous machine, the D.C. side of a polyphase rectifier bridge 4 mountable on the rotor 2 of the synchronous machine is connectible to the field winding 3 of the rotor 2, and the A.C. side of the bridge 4 is connected to a polyphase asynchronous machine rotor 6 which is surrounded by an asynchronous machine stator and which is mechanically coupled to the synchronous machine rotor 2; the stator winding 7 of the asynchronous machine is connectible to a single phase A.C. supply, and a part q of the winding 7 comprising at least one phase winding is short circuited; and the angle between the magnetic axis of the short circuited winding part and the resulting magnetic axis of the winding parts fed by the single phase supply is 90 degrees. In the arrangement shown, the A.C. fed parts SO, OR have a magnetic axis (#S+#R<SP>1</SP>) perpendicular to the axis #T of OT. |
