PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relate to steel cords which is used as a reinforcing material for rubber articles such as pneumatic tires or conveyer belts, particularly obtain steel cords for reinforcing rubber articles having improved corrosion properties and increased fatigue resistance by modifying the structure of the steel cords so that they may be readily impregnated into the inside of the cords with rubber. SOLUTION: In this steel cord, the core comprising one or plural elements wires and at least one of the outer layer comprising plural element wires are intertwined in order to give a steel cord twisted in a multilayer structure or a bundle-twisted steel chord. At least one of the element wire in the core has a two-dimensional wavy shape and the wavy shape has the wire diameter d, wave length L and the height H and they satisfy the following formulas: (1) 5d<=L<=30d, 1.05d<=H<=2.5d, and R, the difference in the wave height between the maximum and the minimum values satisfies the formula (2) R<=0.05H/d. |
