To prepare porous fibres, a soluble or meltable polymer is used as the starting material, the polymer is dissolved or melted, an immiscible liquid or a finely divided solid is uniformly dispersed in the dissolved or melted mass, and the mixture thus obtained is then spun. When the dispersed phase, whether liquid or solid, is removed, empty spaces remain in the body of the fibre. |
