摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat transfer material, with which a sublimation image is formed on an arbitrary body to be transferred under the condition that neither transposition nor unevenness nor blur occurs and which is excellent in the stability of an image such as its light fastness and fixing properties, and its image forming method. SOLUTION: In this heat transfer material having a peelable receiving layer on one surface of a base material, the receiving layer includes a metal ion- containing compound. Further, by piling up and heating the receiving layer made of a heat transfer material having the peelable receiving layer 1 and a dyestuff layer 2 bought into contact with each other, an image is formed in the receiving layer 1 so as to transfer the receiving layer 1, in which the image is formed, onto a body to be transferred for forming the image. In the above-mentioned image forming method, the receiving layer 1 includes a metal ion-containing compound and the dyestuff layer 2 includes a chelatable thermal by diffusible coloring matter.
