PURPOSE:To provide a webbing winding device capable of impeding the pull-put of a webbing instantaneously without timing delay in addition to dispensing with a special countermeasure such as making parts highly strong so as not to be damaged at the sudden decelerating time of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:An inertial mass body 70 is integrally fixed to the lock ring 38 of a webbing winding device 10 being of WSIR and provided with preload mechanism. A pair of protrusions 72, 74 are protruded on the inner peripheral wall of the inertial mass body 70 in such a way as to be engaged with the forked parts 20A of a winding shaft 20. At the sudden rotating time of the winding shaft 20 by the operation of the preload mechanism, the protrusions 72, 74 are engaged with the forked parts 20A so as to mutually transmit relative torque between the winding shaft 20 and the inertial mass body 70 (that is, the lock ring 38). Large impact load does not thereby act upon the lock ring 38. Accordingly, there is no need to form the lock ring 38 to be highly strong nor to be light, thereby causing no delay in operation timing. |
