PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a reproduction circuit by describing copy generation management information as a waveform to be superimposed for a vertical blanking period and applying compression coding to caption data and waveform data for the vertical blanking period by the same system. SOLUTION: Voice data 120 are compression-coded by an audio encoder 102. Image data are given to a video encoder 104, in which compression coding by, e.g. the MPEG system is conducted. Caption data 122 are subjected to pallet conversion by a pallet table 105 and given to a caption encoder 106, in which the data are subjected to prescribed compression. A copy generation management information 123 is given to a vertical blanking period data waveform generating section 107, in which the information is converted into a waveform to be superimposed. Furthermore, the information is compressed by entirely the same method as that of the caption encoder 106 by a pallet table 108 and the vertical blanking period encoder. The compression data as above are multiplexed based on a prescribed rule and the result is outputted. Thus, a receiver uses one decoder to decode the caption data and copy generation management data. |
