PURPOSE:To prevent piston rings from rotating reciprocally to align openings thereof at one place by providing a plurality of piston rings fitted in one piston ring groove, which are integrally connected to each other by a plate member movable disposed in the above groove. CONSTITUTION:A piston ring groove 3 is disposed peripherally on the outer peripheral surface of a piston 2 reciprocating in a cylinder bore 1. Two piston rings 4, 5 are fitted in the groove 3 in such a manner that opening thereof are shift from each other. In this arrangement, a plate member 6 formed by a metallic plate having elasticity is movably inserted between the inner peripheral surfaces of both piston rings 4, 5 and the piston. An outward projection 7 is disposed at the substatially central portion of the plate member 6, and concave portions 4b, 5b where the projection 7 is engaged are disposed on the inner peripheral surfaces of both piston rings 4, 5. Thus, both piston rings are kept from rotating reciprocally to align the openings thereof at one plate. |
