Sand filter

The sand filter for filtering contaminated air includes a sand layer (3) having a top intake surface (4). At a small distance from the bottom (2) of the sand filter, are arranged collecting tubes (5) which have an entry orifice facing the bottom (2) and open into a receiver (7). The collecting tubes (5) are fixed on straps (8) which are laid on the bottom (2) and by means of which each two collecting tubes (5) arranged in continuation of each other are to be connected together. The receiver (7) is bounded by an angled metal sheet (13) and a part of the side wall (1) and the bottom (2), to both of which the metal sheet (13) is fixed. <IMAGE>
