PURPOSE:To extent the temp. range in which a toner can be fixed and to improve the blocking resistance by heat treating a resin binder contg. a block or graft copolymer of crystalline polyester with an amorphous vinyl polymer. CONSTITUTION:A resin binder contg. a block or graft copolymer in which crystalline polyester bonds chemically to an amorphous vinyl polymer having functional groups forming bonds with the polyester is used. The resin binder is passed through a kneading stage and the kneaded material is heat treated by holding at a temp. between the kneading and grinding temps. for a certain time with a heating means. The kneaded material is then cooled to the grinding temp. and ground. The melting start temp. of the resulting toner is moderately lowered, the fixability at low temp. is improved and the offsetting and blocking resistance are also improved. |
