PURPOSE:To manufacture a stable gel film free from foreign matter with a high reproducibility, by applying an expansion to a coating liquid flow temporarily near a final terminal where the coating liquid is expanded in a slit continuously within a coating head across the width to achieve a widthwise uniformization thereof. CONSTITUTION:A medium liquid 14 for electrophoretic separation is supplied to a supply port of a coating head 21 positioned almost at the center of the web 28 to be coated mixing and conditioning two kinds, thick and thin, of monomer liquids 1 and 2 with the flow rate ratio thereof varying continuously and a polymerizing reaction initiator liquid 3 with a static mixer 7 and expanded in a slit continuously widthwise within the coating head 21. Then, the coating liquid expanded runs side by side and bent in the course to be applied on the web 28 with the coating head 21. Here, an expansion is applied to the flow of the coating liquid temporarily near a final terminal where the liquid is expanded in a slit continuously across the width within the coating head 21 to achieve a widthwise uniformization thereof. |
