NEW MATERIAL:Amino acid-based antibiotic TAN-950A having the following physical and chemical properties as a monosodium salt or a salt of the antibiotic. Appearance: white solid. Molecular formula: C8H7N2O4Na. USE:An antifungal agent. PREPARATION:A bacterium [preferably Streptomyces platensis A-136 (FERM BP-1786)] belonging to the genus Streptomyces, capable of producing antibiotic TAN-950A, is subjected to submerged aerated culture at approximately neutral pH of medium at 24-30 deg.C.
