PURPOSE:To improve preservation properties and light resistance of an ink jet recording sheet by employing as a white pigment specially treated fine silica particles. CONSTITUTION:In an ink jet recording coating sheet provided with a coating layer containing as main ingredients white pigment and adhesive, as the pigment, fine silica particles surface treated with calcium, magnesium and/or barium are employed. 50wt.% or more of the silica is contained in the layer, and preferably the specific surface area of the silica is 250-450g/m<2>, oil absorption amount is 15-250ml/100g, and apparent specific weight is 0.15-0.35. Thus, its light resistance and dark bleaching property, i.e., preservation property are improved. |
