PURPOSE:To facilitate modification of speed change characteristic by comparing a target value of operating condition with a detected value then outputting said value to an electrical control circuit and controlling a torque ratio based on the output signal through a torque ratio control means. CONSTITUTION:Rotation N'' of an input side pulley 30 having best fuel consumption corresponding to a throttle opening is contained in ROM. A rotary speed sensor 902 reads in actual rotation N of the input side pulley 30, then a throttle sensor 904 judges whether a throttle opening theta is 0 or not. If theta is not 0, it is compared with rotation N'' of the input side pulley having best fuel consumption corresponding to the throttle opening, and if N<N'' a down shift solenoid valve for a torque ratio control means is operated while if N>N'', an up shaft solenoid valve is operated. Consequently, the rotation of the input side pulley 30 can be matched with the rotation for best fuel consumption and the speed change characteristic can be modified by simply modifying a target value. |
