The casing (1) for a battery, esp. for submarines, is made of fibre-reinforced plastics by a lamination technique. It has a bottom (2) in which a hook (3,4) is formed to fit into the space (5) between a steel rail (9) and a compensation plate (12). This joints the cell to a foundation plate (11) of the boat. This part is reinforced rovings (7,8) of glass and/or carbon fibres. The inside of the casing can be lined with a gel coat. ADVANTAGE - Prevents the delamination of the cell casing layers due to the notch effect of shocks anq impact forces.
