PURPOSE:To recognize the state of a faulty facsimile terminal by transmitting a health checking command from a store and forward switching controller to a terminal periodically by starting up a timer, returning a state code to the command as a response with the terminal, and performing the centrallized management of data. CONSTITUTION:The store and forward switching controller A1 transmits the health checking command to all the facsimile terminals F1-F4 periodically by starting up the timer, and the facsimile terminals F1-F4 return the state codes as the response to the command, and the centralized management of the data is performed by the store and forward switching controller A1. Here, when the facsimile terminal F3 is impossible to transmit facsimile due to a fault, the facsimile terminal F1 issues an output request for the faulty state of the facsimile terminals F1-F4 to the store and forward switching controller A1. The store and forward switching controller A1 receives it, and outputs the faulty states of the terminals to the facsimile terminal F1. The state of the facsimile terminal in which the fault occurs can be recognized, then, the maintenance is applied. |
