<p>PURPOSE:To obtain titled sheet of surface smoothness and high uniformity, with outstanding mechanical properties such as flexural strength, with the pores in a flattened form lined parallel to the surface, by incorporating a polypropylene resin with both inorganic filler and a small amount of specific polyolefin resin followed by controlled expansion. CONSTITUTION:The objective expanded sheet of 0.1-8(pref. 0.3-4)mm. thick, of a bulk density 0.23-1.2(pref. 0.3-1.05)g/cm<3> with the pores mainly in a flattened form spread approximately parallel to the surfacse, variation coefficient for the density in the direction of width <=7% and open cells accounting for >=30%, comprising (A) 99-70(pref. 99-85)pts.wt. of a crystalline polypropylene resin. (B) 1-30(pref. 1-15)pts.wt. of a polyolefin resin (polyethylene one) with its melting point lower than that of the component (A) by >=10 deg.C, and (C) 5-100pts. wt. of inorganic filler.</p> |
