PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receiver having wide dynamic range wherein complicated electronic circuits and optical components are not needed. SOLUTION: The optical receiver is equipped with an optical fiber 10 having an end surface polished obliquely to the longitudinal direction, a photodetection element 13 which converts an optical signal 12 into an electric signal, and a preamplifier 14 which amplifies an output signal of the photodetection element 13. The optical fiber 10 provided with a reflecting film 11 on the oblique end surface which film can control reflectivity in accordance with the output signal of the preamplifier 14. A signal light travels in the optical fiber 10, is reflected by the reflecting film 11 on the oblique end surface of the optical fiber 10, and made to enter the photodetection element 13. |
