PURPOSE:To achieve a shortened process and reduced cost through facilitated work by softening under heat a synthetic resin which has been extrusion-molded and then pressing it onto the peripheral portion of multi-layer glass which has a hollow layer, so that they are formed integrally. CONSTITUTION:Multi-layer glass is prepared by providing a spacer 3 on a peripheral portion between glass plates 1, 2 of single- or multiple-plate construction to separate the glass plates 1, 2 from each other by a specified distance so that a hollow layer 4 is formed between them. Then after primer treatment of the glass peripheral portion, an extrusion-molded synthetic resin frame member 13 having specifically configured cross section is softened by heating and then pressed onto the peripheral portion of the glass; or alternatively, with an extrusion molding nozzle installed adjacently the synthetic resin frame member 13 which is in its softened condition immediately after molding is pressed onto the peripheral portion of glass. In this manner, the synthetic resin frame is formed integrally on the peripheral portion of the glass. |
