PRODUCTION OF FUEL ABSORBER

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a fuel absorber having superior durability and evaporated fuel capturing ability by allowing an org. high molecular compd. having fuel capturing function to react with a cross-linking agent, coating a carrier with the resulting fine particles of polymer gel and drying the particles. CONSTITUTION:An org. high molecular compd. having fuel capturing function such as PP or PE is dissolved in a solvent such as benzene or toluene and the resulting soln. is added to a soln. contg. a dispersant such as PVA or gelatin under stirring. A reaction is allowed to take place in the presence or a cross- linking agent such as benzoyl peroxide. After the end of the reaction, fine particles 50 of polymer gel are collected, a carrier 55 such as plastics or ceramics is coated with the particles 50 without removing the residual dispersant 52 and the particles 50 are dried to obtain a fuel absorber 5 having superior durability to the cycle of absorption and desorption and superior evaporated fuel capturing ability.
